A survey of Crain's subscribers conducted by EPIC-MRA Corporation for Crain's Detroit Business and Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP found Southeast Michigan business owners and executives put a high priority on small class sizes and evaluations that improve teacher performance, and some priority on increasing state per-pupil school aid funding to K-12 school districts.
"I couldn't care less about the roads, I grew up on a dirt road in rural Michigan. But I'm a real estate broker, and so education is a number one priority for a lot of my clients, particularly for their children," said Joy Santiago Clark, president of Dwellings Unlimited LLC, a residential real estate broker in Farmington Hills and Detroit.
